Emergency Plan at The Cat’s Meow Inn

Ever since taking over The Cat’s Meow ten years ago, David and I have made it our priority to put in place a comprehensive plan in the event of an emergency. We have implemented the following measures:

  1. Evacuation plan in place, and practiced by all staff, as recommended by St. John’s Ambulance
  2. Fire and carbon monoxide detectors installed by Advanced Alarm Systems in the cat cottage that will alert us remotely by both an in-house alarm system and our mobile phone if a fire should break out in the cat cottage
  3. Back-up generator in the event of power failure
  4. Emergency water and cat food stockpiled
  5. Cat cottages designed with fire-resistant features such as inflammable floors
  6. Cassandra is pet first aid certified by both The Ottawa Humane Society and St. John’s Ambulance
  7. In the event of the need to evacuate, we have organized temporary housing both locally, and in Toronto and Montreal

Rest-assured, we are looking out for your cat when they stay with us at The Cat’s Meow! We doubt you will find a more comprehensive emergency plan for your pet anywhere.
